After a few bumps and bruises and a nice long nap today, we are back up and have new stuffs for everyone! Here’s what’s new:

Favorites: You know that story you love and that video you just can’t get enough of? Well now you can find them quickly and easily with Mixx Favorites. When you view the details page of a story, photo or video, you’ll see a star next to the link. Click that star and the item will be added to Your Favorites. Then whenever you want to see it again, go to your profile page and click the new Favorites tab, which you’ll find next to your Vote and Comment tabs. If you ever decide to retire a Favorite, just click on the star again and it will disappear forever.

Tags/Categories: We are also making it easier for you to submit stories, photos and videos. During the submission process, the categories you’ve added to YourMixx will appear before any of the other topics. So if you have “Humor” as a YourMixx category—and we know we do—that category will now show up right below where you apply tags. No more scrolling—unless you also want to add it to a different category.

We can’t tell you anything else today, but you know there’s more to come, so check back soon! And as always, feedback is always welcome!

We are good listeners here at Mixx. So when we get requests from our users for more categories, guess what we do? Add more categories! This time specifically we have split up the popular ‘Science and Tech’ tag and created sub-categories for each. So go take a look and add a couple to YourMixx. Maybe go crazy and add them all! It is Friday, after all.

And don’t forget — if you have a specific interest that we don’t have a category for, plug it into the ‘What else are you interested in?’ on YourMixx settings page. For example, New York Yankees, jogging, Christmas, leprechauns … the possibilities are endless.

Hi everyone, we have a few quick updates for you all today.

First, Mixx is now on Twitter! You can follow our updates here. All of us here at Mixx HQ love Twitter and we’ve got a few ideas cooked up on how to get you the best content in a way that’s convenient to you.

Second, Alex and Jason will be in New York City next week for the Future of Web Design conference handing out some shiny new Mixx buttons. If you’ll be at the conference, come find us and get yourself a button!

Here at Mixx, we thought there was no such thing as bad karma. We were wrong—our karma has been behaving badly. A sneaky little bug has been doling out karma like its going out of style. We fixed this going forward, but that means all of us will have such big karmic leads, those who come behind will be left in karma-purgatory.

So if you notice that your Karma Points have gone down, don’t fret. That just means the terminators have done their job, the bug has gone bye-bye and we’ve been able to clean up the karma mess. Look at the bright side—now you can have fun getting your karma back up! Hooray! After all, you know what they say, when it comes to karma, what goes around, comes around!
